Truth does not mind being questioned – A lie does not like being challengedBrian Weiner

A continuation of a fictional reflection by a hundred-year-old Espe from 2112 about the start and on-going movement of transformation to Sustainable Living.  I add clarification links and quotes as needed

The political chaos of the 2020s was characterized by lies and propaganda.  The powers that be wanted to keep everyone in a subservient mood and pitted against each other with rampant fear and suspicion.  Our historians say it was always a part of the human condition but in the 1900s had been ramped up to unprecedented levels by the introduction of electrical mass communications, like movies and radio in the 1920s, and then television in the 1950s.  The introduction of the internet became mainstream in the 1990s with social media popularity taking off around the early 2000s.

What had been happening for over a hundred and fifty years prior to the Covid era was a coordinated and planned consolidation of influence to keep humanity in a distracted condition as the powers that be worked their agenda for global dominance.  In the early 2020s, we thought the world was a hodge-podge of a 195 countries, each with its own unique government but with a few superpowers that controlled global economics and politics in general.  What the vast majority didn’t know was that a tightly controlled narrative kept us all focused-on events that seemed logically connected while an elite group worked their shadowy agenda’s.  What we find amazing today in the Twenty Second century is nearly all of it was done in full openness, disguised as normality.  It was more like a magician’s sleight of hand than any secret conspiracies.

Even in the 1900s, since the First World War, propaganda was used through mass media (newspapers at that time) to convince people to accept absolutely incomprehensible acts of carnage occurring on distant battle fields.  This was taken to new heights of horror by the axis powers of the Second World War Period, with the Soviet and other East Asian regimes perpetrating horrors on their own people as part of control mechanisms to force subservience and compliance to authoritarian doctrines.  All eventually failed, even China’s, with its evolved centrally controlled capitalist communism that finally failed because it too had really been a puppet of the Cabal elites.

What only a few people understood back then was how most of humanity was living a ‘Fraudulent Friction’ that relied on a surplus of lies provided by the Cabal that nearly everyone bought into – to think outside that box was to invite ridicule and scorn.  We thought we had social contracts with our governments, but it was really a sham to keep us mollified and complacent to the worlds social inequities (see Changing Business 1- Understanding how businesses can change the world for the better! – New Social Contracts {October 2018}, and Thinking Anew – Part 8 – Social Contracts and TRUST – parts 1, 2, 3, 4 {Jan-Feb 2022}).

Even today, our historians debate when the global Cabal had originated.  We know that its origins began at least 5000 years ago and probably longer.  It had morphed over the millennia from Emperors to Kings and Queens, and into financial elites in the more modern eras.  While their methods and policies had been open (even if illusionary in practice), their memberships and agenda’s had always been hidden in the shadows within secret societies.  The one thing that characterized this Cabal was the pyramid-like structure of knowledge that kept everything hidden in plain sight.  Only the top tier of the pyramid knew everything.  As one descended down the pyramid, only the information needed to perform ‘ones duties’ was given to each level.  So from the top tier controllers, came the financial and information controlling elites, then the governmental puppets and corporate leaders, followed by the multiple civil servants and managers to the ever lessening system of micro leaders within local systems.

It had been an intricately controlled system for so long but the growing mass of humanity was making it difficult to manage and control.  People have an inherent need to interact and also an exhibit uncanny ability of discernment for stories when they are able to talk with each other freely.  That’s why the invention of electronic media had been so useful to the Cabal.  As a social theorist of the pre-Covid era, social critic Thomas Sowell, spoke about how instead of society developing individuals capable of independent, self-supporting and self-directing lives with pride in their achievements, humanity was turned into “dependents, clients, supplicants, and mascots” of the controlling forces.  There was a need to have real justice and equity, not self-righteousness true believers of the individualistic and greed ridden consumer materialistic system.  “When you want to help people, you tell them the truth.  When you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear.”  Thomas Sowell.

I know when I was a teenager, I asked my parents how the totalitarian leaders could perpetrate large scale genocides without being brought to task.  My father’s grandmother, who was a wise woman, told me that people can be led to do anything when they are conditioned to unquestioningly believe what they are being told is the truth.  He said that an American President (Abraham Lincoln) once said, “You can fool some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, but never all of the people all of the time.” When I asked how the draconian actions of the 2020s could be happening, she told me that what was happening was like the brutal Games of the Roman Colosseum.  To distract people from the global nefarious goings on in our public and political systems, people were distracted by ‘entertainment’ through the multiple mass and social media systems.  Social critic Neil Postman in 1985 had already warned of this subtle kind of conditioning about what happens when politics, journalism, education, and even religion become subject to the demands of entertainment.   It happened when politics, journalism, education, and even religion became subject to the demands of entertainment.

Postman stated that somewhere during the Twentieth Century, we as a global society lost the ability to differentiate between scientific doctrine (Scientism) and the scientific method.  People became more likely to be indoctrinated rather than educated.  He concluded that even as media could control us, it could also liberate us to serve our highest goals and bring a new system where public discourse was about things that matter instead of celebrity status.  In the mid-2020s, the reality of the world and its puppet masters became more obvious and the ever-increasing protests created the conditions for change in all aspects of global society.  By 2030 we had realized just how ‘captured by the elites’ all our systems had become.

Today we have a globalized democracy for want of a better description using terms from pre-Covid political science theory.  We pick leaders with a broad perspective, that are inclusive, and do not create divisions.  Candidates do not demonize and vilify those who think differently – negative campaigns are not tolerated.  Regardless of the level of politics, we demand transparency and expect integrity.  Our worldview has changed so much that anyone who seeks power and control is automatically rejected.  Memories of the Cabal run deep and we accept all ideas for public discussion.  While we still have representatives, we have open public forums that everyone is encouraged (and expected) to contribute, before any decisions are made.

But people in the 2020s would not recognize our politics today, except for perhaps indigenous cultures, although we do not have the tight tribalism that was typical of many indigenous societies through human history.  For instance, I was born In the United States of America, which was a republic, although it called itself a democracy.  In a Democracy – every person counts, and that mainly meant everyone had a vote, although history recalls how many had to fight to get that opportunity to vote.  In most democracies, we elected representatives to speak for us, and despite knowing how corrupt our politics had become, many doggedly kept believing that people were somehow still in charge of their governments.

Everywhere, politics had become so infused with the mass media and big money, that it all became spectacle without substance based on talking points and not anything of substance.  it was really more like watching top gladiators (with financial backers) fight it out on the Colosseum floor.  Political voting choices were about picking the best personality that claimed to fit our beliefs that any true discourse about ideas.  TBC…….
