“Time and Space are modes by which we think, and not conditions by which we live.” Albert Einstein
We exist within a field, and this field responds to our thinking, our consciousness. All limitations in our life exist because we have created them at the deepest level of our psyche. When I say created, I mean that literally. Our conditioning through our upbringing is first and foremost a set of unconscious limitations imposed up on us that we came to accept as ‘normal.’ Our values and beliefs that we hold as central to our identity as merely constructs imposed up on us. Where you were born and the culture and society that molded your identity defines you as long as you remain ‘asleep within your beliefs.” And of course, most people developed limitations that led to shame, doubt, guilt, and especially fear of many varieties in order to make us compliant members of a ‘competitive’ society.
I have spoken often in this blog about how humanity has been controlled for much of its history. This control has been central in keeping us conditioned to limitations, while hiding from us our true nature. Our ancient spiritual teachings from all over the world as well as traditional indigenous knowledge have long told us the truth about ourselves: but the ability to validate this esoteric knowledge has only recently become available. The great names in modern science have explained the quantum reality of the universe. Solidity is a limitation for us that does not exist as such except in our consensus reality beliefs. (I’ll deal with the esoteric mystery teaching explanations in a subsequent post – I’ll stick to the ‘hard’ science for now.)
In the early part of the 20th century, physicists like Wolfgang Pauli, Albert Einstein, and Werner Heisenberg worked with the ‘physical’ universe, but recognized that something else sat ‘below’ what was observable through the five senses. Niels Bohr described the physical universe as the explicate order of being manifested as matter, but emphasized that there must exist an implicate order – the metaphysical nature of matter existing as energy. This is a realm outside of the space and time we accept as absolute, but are merely constructs within our physical reality that quantum physicists recognize as parts of our simulated reality only.
The great psychologist, Carl Jung (famous for his theories of the collective unconscious and archetypes), who worked with Pauli, also described this implicate order as something that bridged the gap between physical and metaphysical reality. One of the great revelations they concluded was that of synchronicity, which can be best understood as meaningful coincidences. By its very definition, this implies a guiding consciousness beyond the mere physical. The physical mind works with constructs and ideas grounded in the explicate or physical reality, and is therefore bound to physical ‘laws’ as part of its belief structures. Physical laws by definition mean limitations of what can be expected within the physical reality. What has been hidden from the majority of humanity for eons are the unbounded systems that exist within the implicate order, where physical laws cease to exist and the only reality is energy as vibration and spiritual coherence – the realm of consciousness itself.
Once you can move beyond the limitations inherent in the explicate order you access the unlimited potentials of the implicate order. Biologists and medical philosophers (e.g. Bruce Lipton) have identified the mind-body connections as more than simply positive thinking but as parts of the full human coherence of mind, body and spirit. For instance, as a technique in understanding how we connect to higher Perspectives of consciousness, the field of Psycho-neuro immunology demonstrates how peoples thinking affects not only how they feel but also the neurotransmitter systems within the body. It is well known that stress from fear and anxiety compromises the immune system, while the opposite of being relaxed and caring enhances the immune system. I have covered this in my Sustainable Living textbook, where stress hormones like cortisol, adrenaline and norepinephrine and happiness endorphin hormones like oxytocin, dopamine and serotonin work to create balance in our bodies. In many cultures (usually eastern countries and indigenous cultures) altered states of consciousness are a normal part of everyday life. Indigenous cultures did not obsess about their lives and their meaning within the universe – they knew it. We, especially in the west, have been seduced by the scientific paradigm in which anything that cannot be measured is flimsy and woo-woo. As I have said several times in past posts, we are now able to measure this altered reality and while it still remains at the edges of mainstream science, there is much scientific evidence that links what our ancestors practiced with the brain, mind, and spirit sciences. John Chavez in ‘Questions for the Lion Tamer’ addresses questions about the role of endogenous DMT in our bodies (see post The non-solid universe 3). How much of the chemistry of our bodies can we control directly through our thoughts versus our actions? Once we break free of the seduction of consumerism and the hyper-consumer mindset, and open ourselves to a whole new way of thinking and doing that involves connecting to a metaphysical (implicate order) alternate way of perceiving the world, the more we see our true power and not the limitations that currently bind us.
“If quantum mechanics hasn’t profoundly shocked you, you haven’t understood it yet.” Neils Bohr
