John commented: “SL is a very difficult but essential challenge and means lots of different things to folk and organisations. It is amazing how many corporates use the word ‘sustainable’ in their mission statements and this often forms part of their marketing message without any substance. Then there is sustainable development and we are still building concrete and tarmac jungles!” Sustainability is obviously popular since the corporate world wants to somehow commodify it for us and make a profit out of it.
This hits the crux of the matter. We are totally dependent on a system that controls everything we do. In essence we are slaves to this system. While most might say that ‘they’ (the magical and disempowering they again) have the power and we are powerless, that is exactly what they want you to think! Think about the economic meltdown of 2008. It was engineered to be that (as are ALL economic meltdowns since 1850) and the people who create it come out ahead as always. Look at the heads of the major financial systems who were there in 2008 and then who were still in control afterwards. In my second text I talk about this. They gamble with our money. Charge us for keeping it safe with all manner of fees. Then when the crunch happens and their gambles fall apart, WE bail them out with our public money. When we think about PRIVATE BANK CARTELs that work together, like the Federal Reserve, the Bank of England, etc… (nearly every country has one and those that don’t yet will once their regimes change) they control all finance and print the magic money for those countries in which they operate.

Then take the concept of GDP/GNP. It was conceived in the mid-1600, but in 1934, FDR wanted some measure (there we are again with the economics needing a measure) to know if the USA was doing better economically. GNP was used as the measure since it could be measured. BUT it was only a minor metric in a whole slew of other minor and ineffectual measures that really didn’t work in the big scheme of everyday life. It simply measures the movement of money – it has no good or bad component to it – a new community center hires a lot of people and money moves. Likewise, a terrible disaster creates a lot of aid help and rebuilding and money moves. A million people dying in a terrible disaster also increases GDP/GNP even more so if they have to be nicely buried. Yet since 1944 from the infamous Bretton Woods we get it as the international measure of choice about comparisons on lifestyle and STANDARD OF LIVING (SOL). Ho do you compare SOL when one country is dirt poor and another has people with lots of ‘stuff’ but are mired in debt in which they will remain for the remainder of their lives! This debt keeps people toeing the line and being good serfs that cannot complain to the hierarchy since they are enslaved to the thing that they cannot possibly do without – MONEY.

In the last blog I pointed out the simple reason why money has become the only source of measurement for success in our world (it’s easy to measure), despite the fact that in our lives we talk about what we really want from life, and interestingly that isn’t money. We have been bamboozled to think that money will somehow bring us these things. To some degree it can (since we have commodified nearly everything in our lives), yet these wants can also exist outside of the monetary system we accept without question as essential. In social research over the last 60 years, consistently found, the top seven things we ‘want’ are Physical Comfort, Good interpersonal relations, Interesting cultural activities, Good health, Good nutrition, Satisfying jobs, and Purpose. So I hear you saying, “well Mr. Know-it-all, how do we get past the money control?” First, none of this is even remotely secret. You can find it easily on the web and through the many books in a bookstore. But you have to get your head away from the electronic joy and mainstream media. Read more (e.g. Project for a New American Century – PNAC) and think critically about what is being said. I recently re-read the Rio Conference 1992 Agenda 21 in context with PNAC and was shocked to realize that the similarities were clearly apparent. Worded oppositely of course since one is brazenly far right wing and the other supposedly progressive-liberal. The agenda is ultimately the same – global control of resources to solve problems. And who controls the resources?? The governments you might say, BUT who controls the governments – the bank cartels. So who controls the bank cartels? – lets give them a name for convenience the CABAL. A deep shadow group that has been around for a long time controlling the masses. Humanity doesn’t really work well with hierarchies, but what have we had for thousands of years – hierarchies. And as Daniel Quinn aptly points out, when we overthrow one hierarchy, we replace it with…another hierarchy (e.g. think Russian Revolution) – that’s how they keep us in line. If you think Richard is losing it, please feel free to disengage from this blog – you won’t hurt my feelings. If you think there might be a nugget of real truth here and that there is a way to change the system, keep reading. I have a lot more to reveal and more importantly, ways that humanity can move towards a life that is full of health, happiness and well-being.

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so
much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something.

I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a little
bit, but instead of that, this is wonderful blog.

A fantastic read. I’ll definitely be back.
