When I was much younger, I had the really naïve notion that if people just had the correct information, they would make rational decisions for their, and others, well-being. I suppose that despite all the nastiness that humans inflict on each other, I believed that people were inherently good and that there were only a few socio-psycho pathic people. Maybe I saw the world differently, but despite all the ‘things’ that I (as we all do) suffered through in our lives, the world was a beautiful place; the Garden of Eden never went away, it just waiting to be tended properly.
I am a dot connector and see how things connect, and with a human history of war, hate, and bloodshed, I saw in odd and disturbing ways how humanity created the world we currently live in. I was always fascinated by the worst aspects of humanity. Why we did things that went against everything that we all aspired towards. Things life Love, happiness, joy, working together collaboratively in co-creation of beauty and well-being. In effect I always saw the world through spiritual eyes. I went through life asking questions and observing the acute cognitive dissonance that is the human condition. It is what drove me to understand worldviews and how they controlled our thinking. Once I understood worldviews, I had all my questions explained in clarity. The goodness of humanity lies just below the surface waiting to blossom – it always has despite the many millennia of violence and hatred that currently define it.
I became an academic to find a way to grow the seeds of a new way of living – one of peace and harmony, not of violence and discord. I started this blog to bring my ideas out to help humanity bring the seeds of change to the surface, not through yet, another manipulated revolution, but through self-change. I cannot change you, only you can decide to do that. Change happens internally, not through some newer external system. If you read this blog, you are probably more like me that you realize. You know beauty and wonderful creativity when you see it through music, the written word, a walk in nature, a spectacular view of a gorgeous sunrise, or sunset, in a special place, holding the hand of someone special to you, being in love. We know the world is beautiful, so why is it so ugly when we get our collective hands on it?
I believe we are meant to live in Love and Harmony – that is who we really area. I have explained throughout this blog a narrative of how we got to a dysfunctional world. I think the vast majority of humanity sees through the dystopian system quite clearly, but yet we all still cling to vain hopes that somehow the World Management System that controls us will make things better. Well, that is the story they control us with, and their tool is simply one of undermining our self-worth, and creating fear to make us compliant to their designs. I read the headlines and see more and more how obvious their controlling narratives are. Follow the money in any, and I mean all, situations currently occupying our time and you will see a simple yet, well-vetted formula playing out. Problems (‘they’ create), Reactions (how they condition us to react), and Solutions (the planned answer ‘they’ give us to what they created).
Let me offer some clear examples using writers that see the world as I do, so you see that it isn’t just me that sees through the illusions of the Matrix.
The realities of the modern global economy: “If The Economy Is Great, Why Can’t People Afford To Live Anymore? If wealth really trickled down, we wouldn’t all be drowning. The Office for National Statistics says food prices are up 37% since 2021. Wages? Up 6%. Doesn’t take a spreadsheet to see the math doesn’t work. The Economic Policy Institute says CEO pay has risen over 1,000% since the late seventies. Worker pay? Up about twelve. That’s not a market. That’s a mugging. CEOs and billionaires often tell ordinary people to work hard, save money, and be patient. We did all three. The system just stopped holding up its end of the bargain. That’s why trickle-down economics was never a theory. It was a cover story. And the only thing that ever trickled down was contempt” James White.
The illusion that we can all thrive in this current world management System: “One of the most confusing aspects of this timeline’s disappearance is the disconnect consumers experience when reading today’s financial news. On one hand, the economy appears to be booming according to traditional macroeconomic indicators. The S&P 500 sits at historic levels. GDP growth remains strong. Unemployment rates seem relatively low. Yet the average citizen feels little of this prosperity. The system is functioning as intended. It has optimized the extraction of wealth from the working population while no longer providing the structural stability that once defined the timeline. We are no longer contributing partners in the economic engine. We have become the fuel” Noel Johnson.
The Matrix and its illusions over time – same story different settings: “Think about the enclosure acts back in 18th century England. The commons land shared and farmed by the public were systematically fenced off and the aristocracy privatized them. The peasants didn’t disappear; they just became the landlord’s tenants who kept paying rent for the very land they used to work on freely. The transition from a growth economy to an extraction economy changed capital’s fundamental incentives. Why would a business rely on a consumer having enough surplus income to purchase a product only once, if they can just as well continue charging a desperate tenant for access to his or her basic necessities forever? Look around and you will see that the concept of ownership has radically changed. What we have now is licensing, a mere permission to use a thing or a service.
This is the matter of the profitable rot at the deepest level. The societal transformation from owners to tenants is the very center of the transition. You have to pay a subscription to software nowadays as buying it outright has been discontinued. Also, the subscription is cloud based which means the software can be changed or revoked any time. Getting yourself a tractor is impossible without signing an agreement which forbids you from repairing it. You won’t even be able to heat your seats in some cars unless you pay a monthly software subscription. Though these rules have ease over the years due to new laws and public backlash, they are the symptoms of the middle-class doom. The middle class is being drain off their resources by a myriad of very small recurring charges.
Single ownership is being converted into a rent seeking chokehold one by one. This is not a free market. It is a highly engineered command economy run by private autocracies” Noel Johnson.
Why the control system seems more obvious than it ever has: “Now consider a second factor: algorithms. Social media platforms don’t simply show posts in the order they were created. Algorithms decide what users see, because the purpose is NOT to keep you informed, but to maximize engagement. If enough people are exposed to conflicting or false information, the effects can extend beyond individual beliefs. Entire communities may begin to disagree about basic facts. Trust in institutions can weaken. Public debate becomes more difficult when people don’t share the same understanding of reality” Mona Lazar.
To recognize truth and not to see ‘through a glass – a mirror – darkly,’ which is to have an obscure or imperfect vision of reality. Revelation inspires change: “Now, I can be a part of a movement that seeks to make it true, that tries its best to uproot white supremacist, patriarchal, and even capitalist culture in hopes of bringing about a better world. A kinder one. A world rooted in the idea that every human being is entitled to certain inalienable rights. A world that will risk everything to make sure of it” Crystal Jackson.
To recognize that natures economic system is a direct model for a new human system: The Second Law [of thermodynamics] is the critical one here. It states, in plain language, that disorder in a closed system never decreases. Energy always degrades in quality as you use it. Entropy — the measure of that disorder — only accumulates. You cannot run the clock backward. You cannot reclaim what has been spent. Life, in this context, is a remarkable and deeply improbable thing. A living organism is an island of extraordinary order in a universe trending relentlessly toward chaos. Your body maintains that order — every heartbeat, every enzymatic reaction, every neural signal — by continuously importing energy and exporting entropy. Stop that import, and the Second Law reasserts itself immediately. The organism dissolves back toward equilibrium. We have a word for that. We call it death.
This is not metaphor. It is mechanism. Earth is the engine life requires. What makes life on Earth possible is not simply that the planet is warm enough or wet enough or oxygenated enough, though all of that matters. What makes it possible is that Earth is an open thermodynamic system — a system that receives a constant, high-quality stream of energy from the sun and deploys a staggeringly complex web of biological systems to recycle every waste product and reset the entropy clock” Dick Dowdell
In the movie, The Matrix, the hero Neo takes the ‘red pill’ to see the realities of the Matrix. This has become a catch phrase, but note how that very term for truthful revelation has been turned into a control mechanism to divide us further into controllable fractions of ‘Left and Right and everything in-between.” I believe we are on the cusp of monumental change, one ‘they’ give us or one WE choose. Do we continue doing their bidding as we have for millennia, or do we come out of the cave of darkness and strive into the light? As my Item 1 on my change list emphasizes – the peaceful solution begins with a spiritual connection to the world and each other. For those ready to be Loving and Compassionate, an inspirational poem by Max Ehrmann (1927) that offers advice on how to live a peaceful and meaningful life set to song in 1971.
